Chemical reaction

Ammonia, amines and hydrogen sulphide are among the main carriers of olfactory nuisances in the environment.
The active bases of WESTRAND products act by means of a nucleophilic attack of the nitrogen or sulphur of the amines and mercaptans on the carbon d+ of the C=O group of the aldehydes and ketones. Generally, these balanced reactions are neither rapid nor total unless the neutralizing element is sufficiently excessive and the pH is maintained within certain limits.
